Hi, my name is Tara Spaethe

I’m a 27 year old photographer drawn to the quiet, meaningful moments. My work is rooted in a cozy, nostalgic approach documenting your love as it naturally unfolds and noticing the little details that would easily go missed. Whether it’s your wedding day or a slow afternoon together as a family, I’m here to capture your story in a way that feels honest, emotional, and just as it's happening at that moment in time.

Inspired by the photos I grew up with, my photography style is warm, candid, and rooted in nostalgia. I want my photos to be more than just for social media, I want them to be a legacy for you and your loved ones.

I believe the most meaningful moments aren’t posed or directed, but found in the in-betweens.

A Different Approach to Family Photos

As a Montessori teacher I incorporate that deeply into my photography. I give children the lead when it comes to our sessions and children's opinions and needs are respected. They are given options along the way and asked for any ideas they have, they love to be included in decisions in a world that decides for them a lot of the time. They are given space to be free, silly, and genuinely themselves. When children feel safe and heard, they are happy to participate in photos and our session becomes fun memory. I have changed the way I do things to make it a fun, non-stressful experience for everyone, even your littles of all ages. Even years later when you get photos done again, it won't be remembered as a negative expirience.
